Hello and welcome to my site.  My name is Ann Spotswood, the picture in the background of my home page is  my favourite place.   I visit there often, I love the peace, beautiful scenery and the way things change with the seasons.  Click here if you would like to see a full colour version of Reddish Viaduct.

I have been involved with and breeding Birmans for as long as I can remember.  My prefix Beaubright was registered to my by the GCCF in 1990.

I was living in Chinley near Buxton, Derbyshire when I bought my first Birman. Kraftykat Princessdaisy, she was a seal point.  I have always been a cat person, and my love of the Birman took off when my husband Colin took me to a cat show.  I saw my first Birman at that show, but had no idea what they were called.  It took me a year to find a girl to show.  Princess Daisy hated the shows and was not a good traveller, so I decided to try my hand at breeding Birmans.  Daisy was mated to Gr Ch Panjandrum Ko Chang, she had two kittens a seal boy and a blue girl.

Not long after that my cats and I found ourselves on our own.  We moved into a cottage in Buxworth. Whilst living there I helped to rehome two Birmans - and that was my introduction to the Birman Rescue.  I was already cat trapping and rehoming feral cats in the Peak District.  A friend and I set up Peak Cat Rescue. I spent two years feral cat trapping at Glossop tip and on farms but that’s another story.

I was asked by Teresa Cole in 1994 to be rescue officer for the North of England. I have been rehoming Birmans ever since for the Rescue.  It can very sad and at the same time extremely rewarding.  At the time I write this in the autumn of 2007 the numbers are unfortunately still increasing.

Here I am at the 2007 Supreme Show manning the Rescue stand.   Raising some money for the Rescue, and meeting lots of caring people at the same time.

I am Vice Chairman and Membership Secretary of the Manchester & District Cat Club.  I have been on the committee of this club since 1990.  In 2007 I was hall manager of the club’s championship show. Our next show will be held on the 3rd May 2008 at G.H. Carnall Leisure, Urmston, Manchester.

I love breeding and showing, I have made so many wonderful friends over the years.  I am always ready to talk about kittens or the Rescue

I hope that you enjoy looking at my lovely girls and my very special kittens…

I have bred some lovely Birmans over the years, one extra special boy Grand Premier Beaubright Donatello (Dusty) will remain in my heart forever.
